Private Online Counselling in Glasgow

Getting the right support shouldn’t mean adding another stressful journey or appointment to an already busy week.

Mending Minds provides private online counselling for adults across Glasgow, giving you the freedom to speak with an experienced counsellor from somewhere you feel comfortable, private and at ease.

Online counselling gives you the same dedicated one-to-one time with your counsellor, without travelling across the city, sitting in waiting rooms or having to organise your day around getting to and from an appointment.

You choose where you have your session – whether that’s at home, from a private office or somewhere else where you can talk confidentially and without interruption.

Counselling That Fits Around You

With online counselling, getting support is simple:

  • Fit sessions around your life: choose appointment times that work alongside your work, family and other commitments.
  • No travelling or waiting rooms: avoid traffic, public transport and the additional time involved in attending a counselling practice.
  • Talk from somewhere you feel comfortable: you decide where you want to be during your sessions.
  • Accessible wherever you are in Glasgow: particularly helpful if travelling is difficult because of mobility, transport or other circumstances.
  • More time for you: a 50-minute counselling session doesn’t need to take a large chunk out of your day.
  • No pressure or long-term commitment: start with a free initial consultation and decide whether Izabela and online counselling feel right for you.

Meet Izabela – Your Online Counsellor

Hi, I’m Izabela. I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering private online counselling to adults across Glasgow. I believe counselling works best when it adapts to the person, rather than expecting the person to fit neatly into one particular type of therapy.

That’s why I work as a pluralistic counsellor, drawing on different therapeutic approaches and techniques according to your individual needs, circumstances and goals. This can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) alongside other established counselling and psychotherapeutic approaches.

You don’t need to know which type of therapy you need before we meet. You may not even be completely sure how to explain what you’re experiencing yet. That’s absolutely fine.

We’ll start by talking about what’s happening in your life, what you’d like help with and what you hope might change. From there, we can agree on an approach that feels appropriate for you and continue adapting how we work together as your counselling progresses.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to feeling better because we’re all unique. No two people are the same.

How Counselling Can Help

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes you know exactly what’s troubling you. At other times, you may feel something's not right.

You might be struggling with anxiety that won’t settle down, feeling overwhelmed by work or relationships, dealing with loss or bereavement, questioning your confidence or finding that everyday life has become harder than it used to.

Counselling gives you a safe and confidential space to explore what’s happening without judgement, understand yourself and your experiences more clearly, and begin finding ways forward that feel manageable.

Izabela works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and personal difficulties, which includes:

CBT, Psychotherapy or Counselling?

If you’ve been seeking private counselling, you’ve probably come across terms like CBT, psychotherapy, person-centred counselling and talking therapy quite often. Knowing which approach is right for you can quickly become confusing, particularly when you’re already dealing with something difficult.

The good news is, you don’t need to choose a type of therapy before you begin.

Izabela is a pluralistic counsellor, which means she isn’t restricted to one particular therapeutic approach. Instead, she draws on different ways of working depending on what you’re experiencing, what you want to achieve and what helps you the best.

Anger Management

Looking for CBT in Glasgow?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be a useful approach for understanding how thoughts, feelings and behaviours influence each other, and Izabela can incorporate CBT techniques into your counselling where appropriate.

But CBT isn’t right for everyone. Sometimes exploring past experiences is more helpful; at other times, practical strategies for what’s happening right now may work better.

That’s the advantage of a pluralistic approach. Izabela can draw on CBT and other therapeutic techniques to find what works best for you, rather than limiting your counselling to one particular method.

You don’t need to decide which type of therapy you need before you begin.

How Does Online Counselling Work?

Starting video counselling doesn’t need to feel daunting or complicated. You can meet Izabela online from the comfort and privacy of your own home, with no referral required and no commitment to continue.

How to Start Online Counselling

Choose a suitable time for a short initial video consultation with Izabela. It’s an opportunity to discuss what’s brought you to counselling, ask questions and see how you feel about working together.

There’s absolutely no pressure or commitment to continue. Counselling is personal, so it’s important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor and the way you’ll work together.

If you decide you want to continue, you can arrange your first online counselling session at a time that works for you. You’ll meet Izabela privately by video from wherever you feel ready.

With Mending Minds, there's no set packages or long-term tie-ins. You and Izabela can regularly review how you feel things are progressing and what you need moving forwards.

For instance, if you express intent to harm yourself or another identifiable person, your therapist may be obligated to report this to the appropriate authorities. Additionally, therapists may undergo regular professional supervision as part of their ethical responsibilities.

If you have any concerns or questions about confidentiality, please feel free to discuss them with your therapist before starting your sessions.

All sessions are conducted through secure video calls, allowing you to connect with your therapist face-to-face in a virtual setting via Google Meet (similar to Zoom or FaceTime).

To get started, simply schedule a session with your therapist. You'll receive an email invitation confirming the time and details. When it's time for your session, just log into Google Meet and start the call. Once you're connected, you'll be able to begin your video chat and talk openly with your therapist in real time.

Do you provide counselling over the telephone?

In most cases, we recommend video calls for therapy sessions, as they often lead to the best results. However, we understand that technology can feel overwhelming for some, and speaking to someone over video may be challenging or stressful.

If you’d feel more comfortable with phone-based counselling, we’re happy to explore options and create a therapy plan that works for you.

How do I pay for my therapy sessions?

To confirm your therapy sessions, payment must be made in advance. We accept secure payments via bank transfer, or by credit and debit card through Stripe.

How do I know this type of therapy is right for me?

Countless studies support the effectiveness of online therapy for creating meaningful life changes. But my true confidence in this approach comes from the feedback and testimonials I receive from clients. Every day, I’m inspired by the stories of those who’ve experienced life-changing results through this service.

I am truly overwhelmed by the response I received in relation to my enquiry and how compassionate you are. I have never been treated that nicely with my mental health ever and normally judged or people think well it's not happening to you so not your issue. Definitely very very good at your job. Thank you
