Meet Izabela – Your Online Counsellor

Hello, I’m Izabela Burge, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering confidential, one-to-one online counselling for adults living in Maidstone and the surrounding Kent communities.

I know that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, particularly if you’ve never experienced counselling before. My aim is to create a welcoming, understanding environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, without fear of criticism or judgement.

As a pluralistic counsellor, I believe there’s no single therapeutic approach that suits everyone. I draw on a range of established counselling methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, to help us find a way of working that reflects your individual circumstances, preferences and goals.

You might be experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, low confidence or emotions you can’t quite explain. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t need to prepare a list of problems or know exactly what you want to achieve before we meet.

Together, we’ll explore what’s happening in your life, identify what matters most to you and work towards changes that feel realistic and meaningful. As our sessions progress, we can adapt our approach to reflect your needs and what you’re finding helpful.

Above all, I want you to feel listened to, respected and supported as you begin making sense of your experiences and finding a way forward.

How Counselling Can Help

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes you know exactly what’s troubling you. At other times, you may feel something's not right.

You might be struggling with anxiety that won’t settle down, feeling overwhelmed by work or relationships, dealing with loss or bereavement, questioning your confidence or finding that everyday life has become harder than it used to.

Counselling gives you a safe and confidential space to explore what’s happening without judgement, understand yourself and your experiences more clearly, and begin finding ways forward that feel manageable.

Izabela works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and personal difficulties, which includes:

CBT, Psychotherapy or Counselling?

If you’ve been seeking private counselling, you’ve probably come across terms like CBT, psychotherapy, person-centred counselling and talking therapy quite often. Knowing which approach is right for you can quickly become confusing, particularly when you’re already dealing with something difficult.

The good news is, you don’t need to choose a type of therapy before you begin.

Izabela is a pluralistic counsellor, which means she isn’t restricted to one particular therapeutic approach. Instead, she draws on different ways of working depending on what you’re experiencing, what you want to achieve and what helps you the best.

✅ ADHD
✅ Anger Management
✅ Anxiety
✅ Bereavement
✅ Burnout

✅ Couples Therapy
✅ Depression
✅ Low Self-Esteem
✅ Marriage & Divorce
✅ Pet Bereavement

✅ Personal Development
✅ Relationships
✅ Stress
✅ Trauma
✅ Work-related Concerns

Looking for CBT in Maidstone?

If you’re searching for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in Maidstone, you might be wondering whether it’s the right type of counselling for you. CBT focuses on the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping you recognise unhelpful patterns and develop practical ways to manage them.

Izabela incorporates CBT techniques into her counselling where appropriate, but believes that effective support should consider the whole person, rather than focusing on a single therapeutic method.

Sometimes, exploring your past experiences can help you understand why you feel or react in certain ways. In other situations, learning practical techniques to manage present-day challenges may be more beneficial.

As a pluralistic counsellor, Izabela can draw on CBT alongside other therapeutic approaches, adapting how you work together to reflect your individual needs, preferences and goals.

There’s no need to choose between CBT, psychotherapy or other forms of counselling before getting started. Your free initial consultation is an opportunity to discuss what you’re experiencing and explore an approach that feels right for you.

I am truly overwhelmed by the response I received in relation to my enquiry and how compassionate you are. I have never been treated that nicely with my mental health ever and normally judged or people think well it's not happening to you so not your issue. Definitely very very good at your job. Thank you
